Cola Pens

(editorial note: Yes, we meet at an art supply store, that, yes, I own. However, I have no problem with making art supplies! I love thewhole thought of making the tools to make art. That said, here's the scoop.)

We made pens from aluminum cans! We really did! They worked great.

It isn't a traditional broad-edge or p
ointed pen style lettering tool. It is for very large, very expressive strokes with a note of unpredictability. There was an unexpectedly small group for this experiment, and it's a shame. We really had a lot of fun, and all decided that this is a lettering device we will use (or in Paula's case - teach others to make) in the future.

Gilding Secrets (Shhhhhhh!)

A kindly wizard came by to share the secrets of adding beautiful, shiny elements to our lettering. She (Joyce) brought her extensive knowledge of the supplies and practice to 'illuminate' those of us who wish to add sparkle to our pieces. Thanks Joyce!
